Fruit of the Holy Spirit // Faithfulness

O Lord Omnipotent, Who permittest evil that Thou mayest draw good therefrom, give ear to our humble petitions, whereby we beg of Thee the grace of being faithful unto death, evermore conforming ourselves to Thy most holy will.

“All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth toward those who honor his covenant and decrees.” Psalms 25:10

“Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness! Morning by morning new mercies I see; All I have needed Thy hand hath provided, Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!"Thomas Obadiah Chisholm

When I was a little girl my heart would overflow with joy while singing songs like this one. The melody was short which made it easy to sing like I was shouting from a mountain top. Over and over again words like these would spring from my heart. The funny thing is, way back then I never really knew what the words meant. I knew they were about God and I knew I loved God and that he loved me. But I had no idea how truly faithful he was to me.

“Jesus loves me this I know for the bible tells me so, little ones to him belong, they are weak but he is strong, yes Jesus loves me, yes Jesus loves me, yes Jesus loves me, the bible tells me so. Oh how he loves you and me, Oh how he loves you and me, he gave his life what more could he give? Oh how he loves you, Oh how he loves me, Oh how he loves you and me” Evie

When I was in High School I had to muster up every bit of courage to sing this song at a school concert, to make things more interesting I sang the song and signed the words, that was my first and last attempt at sign language. Although the words are the simplest little Christian tune which clearly spells out Our Lords devotions to me, I still didn’t get it, but he kept growing me.

“In the Morning when I rise, In the Morning when I rise, In the Morning when I rise give me Jesus, give me Jesus, give me Jesus. You can have all this world, Just give me Jesus!” Jeremy Camp

As an adult this song has become my mantra, because there was a time in my life that I experienced the dark night of the soul and during that time I lost my ability to sing. In a desperate plea I called out to the Lord and as always he was there. Slow and steady piece by piece he brought me back into the light so I could love and serve him with fearless faithfulness singing my heart out from the mountain top. It is because of his faithfulness that I am able to serve Heart of Mary Women's Fellowship in the capacity that I do today!

This is what I strive for..."I want to be the woman that gets up in the morning and the devil say’s, O crap she’s up!"

It wasn’t until I was an adult that I realized how faithful God truly is and that every morning that I rise new mercies lay before me and that he will provide all my needs placed before me this day!

What holy song do you love to sing from the mountain tops? Sing it right now:) When did you first know God’s faithfulness? Please write a comment as I would really love to hear your answer:)
