It is the 6th Day of the Octave of Christmas and our readings continue to show us how to respond to the birth of the Christ Child.

Is it still Christmas? Today is the 5th Day of the Octave of Christmas, which is why we continue the message brought to us by the birth of the Christ Child.

It is all well and good to speak of carrying the Light of the Child of Bethlehem into the world when life feels good all around us.

If the birth of the Son of God calls us to action, what action is that? Today we celebrate St. John the Apostle and Evangelist.

The house has been cleaned, the packages wrapped and then opened, the company’s been fed, we’ve laughed and cried and shared new and old memories, the house is a mess again.

Today we celebrate the arrival of the King of kings!
